Réjean Asselin is Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Management—Growth & Transition Capital at BDC. He has over 35 years of experience as a business advisor, manager, entrepreneur, operator, board director and investor in the context of early stage and high growth companies. Réjean also has extensive experience in operations, coaching management teams and governance as well as expertise in business strategy, turnaround and M&A.
Prior to his current role, Réjean was actively involved as Partner in the inception of Go Capital, a venture capital fund established by BDC Capital, which is dedicated to supporting seed-stage firms in cleantech, information technologies and life sciences. He was also Director, Technology Seed Investment at BDC where he served in many sectors including Information and Communications Technology, Industrial, Clean and Energy Technology as well as Healthcare. Before joining BDC, Réjean provided management consulting services working with entrepreneurs and investors in the technology and industrial sectors. He was previously founder and CEO of technology companies in the ICT sector and had senior roles within two major consulting firms.
Réjean holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Electrical Engineering) from Laval University and is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (O.I.Q.) as well as the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec (Adm.A.). He also has Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Administrateur de sociétés certifié (A.S.C.) and Chartered Director (C.Dir.) designations. He is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and CEOs build strong and successful businesses.
