Stéphane Therrien

Stéphane Therrien joined the BDC Board of Directors in June 2023.

Mr. Therrien has more than 25 years of executive-level experience in the financial industry. Most recently, he acted as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer while in the role of Executive Vice President, Personal and Commercial Banking, at Laurentian Bank of Canada, after serving in other senior-level management positions since 2012. Some of his key achievements include tripling commercial assets through the development of a new growth strategy and orchestrating two major acquisitions.

Previously, Mr. Therrien worked at GE Capital Canada for 20 years, where he climbed the ranks to become Chief Commercial Officer, reporting to the president and CEO.

Mr. Therrien holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from HEC Montréal.
