Suzanne Trottier joined the BDC Board of Directors in June 2019.

Ms. Trottier brings to BDC extensive experience as a senior leader in the Indigenous sector. She is the President at First Nations Bank of Canada Trust (FNB Trust) since March 2023 that administers over $4 billion in Indigenous client trust assets. Previously, she held the role of Vice President, Indigenous Trust Services at FNB Trust since July 2020. In her previous role from 2014 to 2020 with the First Nations Financial Management Board (FMB) as Director of Capacity Development, she led a team responsible for supporting more than 200 First Nations governments across Canada build their financial management capacity.

Before joining the FMB, Ms. Trottier held several senior positions serving Indigenous communities and spent 8 years with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance in progressive roles in their Toronto and Montreal offices, most recently as Vice-President of Mergers and Acquisitions.

Ms. Trottier also serves as the Vice-Chair of the InBC Investment Corporation Board and as Treasurer of the National Aboriginal Trust Officers Association Board.

Ms. Trottier is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) from the University of Manitoba. She also holds an ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Ms. Trottier is a proud member of the Métis Nation of BC with maternal roots to the Lake Manitoba and Ebb and Flow First Nations.
