Sandra Bosela joined the BDC Board of Directors in June 2016.
Ms. Bosela has nearly two decades of experience in the financial industry, primarily working in private equity with mid-sized businesses in Canada and abroad.
She is currently Co-Head, Managing Director and Global Head of Private Equity at OPTrust Private Markets Group. Since joining the company in 2012, her responsibilities have increased from managing the group’s North American private equity portfolio to overseeing the group’s global private equity strategy, which includes investments in growth capital, buyout, long-term equity, private credit and other special situations.
Ms. Bosela previously served as President and Managing Partner at EdgeStone Capital Partners Inc., a large Canadian private equity firm where she spent 13 years. Her focus was on middle-market North American growth capital and buyout opportunities. She actively engaged with portfolio companies, notably stepping in as Interim CEO for one company.
Earlier in her career, she worked as Analyst, Mergers & Acquisitions at National Bank Financial.
She is a member of the board of directors of St. George’s University, dentalcorp and Ackerman Security Systems Inc. She is a former member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). She has served as a board member with the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (CVCA), Sheena’s Place and Jessie’s Centre for Teenagers (now The June Callwood Centre for Young Women).
Ms. Bosela was selected to be a member of the Government of Canada’s Expert Panel on Championing and Mentorship for Women Entrepreneurs in 2014.
Ms. Bosela holds an Honours Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. She has also completed the General Management Program at the Harvard Business School.
