Mark Trevitt is Principal in BDC Capital’s Industrial, Clean and Energy Technology Venture Fund. In this role, he is responsible for managing the strategy and operations of the fund. Since joining BDC in 2014, he has invested in Bit Stew Systems (acquired by GE), Librestream, Neurio, GaN Systems and DarkVision.
Mark has over 10 years of international experience in venture capital and start-ups across the industrial, environmental and digital technology domains.
He previously worked in Europe with BP Ventures, at impact-driven investor Bridges Ventures in London and at Telegraph Hill Capital, a seed investor in Barcelona/San Francisco. Prior to this, he led product development at Trucost (acquired by S&P), helped build the first-sustainability-enhanced investment strategy at Inflection Point Capital Management, with $1 billion of assets under advisement, and worked in engineering at Ferus (acquired by EMG), an energy industry services company.
Mark has been recognized by Corporate Knights as a Top 30 Under 30. He was instrumental in the investment with Bit Stew Systems that won the CVCA Deal of the Year Award in 2016.
Mark has been at the forefront of moving the sustainability agenda forward globally. He has authored several publications on investing and sustainability, most notably as a co-author for Evolutions in Sustainable Investing published by Wiley, with the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment and the ground breaking international study and initiative, The Economics of Ecosystems and Biodiversity, commissioned by the G8+5 nations and part of the United Nations Environment Program.
Mark received an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona. He holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from McGill University.
