BDC announces appointment of Jean-Sébastien Charest as Chief Information Officer
Montreal, December 8, 2022 – BDC, the bank for Canadian entrepreneurs, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Sébastien Charest as Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Jean-Sébastien was promoted to CIO in November 2022, following a two-year tenure as the Bank’s Vice President and Group Lead, Transformations and Data Management Strategies. In that position, he distinguished himself for his involvement in building and strengthening BDC’s digital capabilities.
In his new role, Jean-Sébastien oversees all aspects of technology solutions, operations and investments, and is responsible for building a sustainable and secure digital landscape that delivers maximum value to BDC employees and Canadian business owners.
Prior to joining BDC, Jean-Sébastien was Senior Director of Online Solutions & Desjardins Digital at Mouvement Desjardins, where he drove the digital transformation and led the technology team responsible for the web and mobile transaction channels.
He previously held positions at Société Générale (Paris), CGI and TMX Group, where he provided leadership in software development.
Jean-Sébastien holds a Master of Business Administration from HEC Montréal and a Bachelor of Software Engineering from École de technologie supérieure.
“Jean-Sébastien is exactly the right person to fill the role of Chief Information Officer of BDC. His experience, leadership and business relationship skills, as well as his strategic planning expertise, will all be excellent assets to our Senior Management Committee and to BDC as we continue to activate and realize our renewed ambitions.”
Isabelle Hudon, President and CEO, BDC
