26 organizations that help women entrepreneurs grow their businesses
The world of venture capital may seem complex and mysterious the first time you dive into it. Since arriving at the Thrive Lab for Women, I have met many women entrepreneurs who are struggling to navigate the multitude of funds and support programs available. Navigating through this complex ecosystem is not only possible, but generally essential to accelerate your growth, maximize your social impact and access what any start-up company eventually needs: capital.
I wanted to take the opportunity on International Women’s Day, March 8, to showcase some of the best stakeholders in the ecosystem that directly support women-led businesses: the co-investment partners oft the Thrive Lab.
For 26 days in the month of March, I have featured one of these 26 organizations on LinkedIn. These partners are responsible for sourcing, pre-qualifying, and recommending women-led businesses in which the Thrive Lab will invest its $100 million envelope. They also commit to guiding and supporting recommended companies over at least 18 months to help them build on strong foundations and reach their next growth milestones. The group of partners is made up of incubators, accelerators, angel investor groups and wealth management offices.
Together, we are creating a dynamic collaborative ecosystem to support women entrepreneurs.
I hope that by sharing this information, we will shed more light on the resources that exist in Canada for women entrepreneurs who are looking not only to grow but also have a positive impact on society.
