Xavier Szwengler was appointed Chief Marketing Officer of BDC in May 2026. He leads the Bank’s marketing team and function to ensure a strong brand positioning, the highest contribution to the business objectives and a high valued client experience in full alignment with our corporate strategy. His role also includes building partnerships that support Canadian small- and medium-sized business owners.
With more than 20 years of experience across marketing, technology, and organizational transformation, Xavier is known for using data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and performance measurement to drive impact and long-term value.
Before joining BDC, he was Vice President, Marketing and Distribution at Air Transat (Transat A.T.) and a member of the executive committee. He oversaw a significant share of direct revenue and led major digital, data-driven, and automation initiatives, including a flagship loyalty program and strategic international partnerships, while enhancing the end-to-end client journey.
Xavier has also held senior marketing roles at Transat, Ubisoft, and TUI, as well as consulting positions at Viatys and Capgemini (formerly Altran), where he built deep expertise in e-commerce, CRM, multichannel strategy, and large-scale transformation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, with a minor in cultural industries from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC).
