Fred Bedrich brings over 40 years’ experience in information technology, specializing in cybersecurity, analyzing technology strategies with business strategies, and applying quantitative information risk principles.
He has forged a reputation as an agent of change and promotes essential methodologies and frameworks such as NIST-CSF, ISO27K and FAIR. He has helped organizations to instill a cyber-resiliency culture; mitigate cyber-risk exposures while continuously focusing on operational readiness, compliance obligations and business imperatives.
Fred has been serving as Chief Information Security Officer for BDC since May 2018. He oversees Cybersecurity; Compliance, Cyber Incidents, SOC, Threat Hunting, Cyber-Forensics, Red Teams and Threat Intel. Prior to his current position, he was CN’s CISO in charge of Cybersecurity for all IS/IT, Operational Technologies and Rail operations. Fred’s long and successful career has given him the opportunity to lead some of Canada’s best cybersecurity talent in prestigious organizations such as Bell Canada, BSSI, pwc, BCI and CGI, delivering cybersecurity services for Canadian governments, law enforcement agencies and private sector financial services.
