As CrossFit Stasis, a Victoria, British Columbia training facility founded in 2013, became increasingly popular with local fitness enthusiasts, owner Bruno Guévremont wanted to ensure he could continue providing an optimal training experience for his growing clientele.
Guévremont needed to hire staff, purchase equipment and make renovations to the facility which provides a unique environment where cross fit enthusiasts encourage and challenge each other to reach their fitness goals.
He was also concerned about high staff turnover and wanted to improve his business’s management, systems and processes.
BDC, impressed by Guévremont’s extensive fitness experience and passion, recognized the business’s potential and provided a small business loan for equipment, renovations and growth capital. The loan’s 6-month capital payment postponement and 5-year repayment program helped protect the company’s cash flow.
A BDC coach worked with Guévremont to guide him through the challenges of a growing business, helping him identify his business priorities and put appropriate financial and operational structures in place. The facility is now organized to handle current and future growth.
“As a result of BDC’s incredible support, we have established ourselves as one of the top fitness providers in the Victoria area,” says Guévremont, whose facility has doubled in membership and reached all-time high customer satisfaction levels.
Building on this success, the entrepreneur is now working with BDC on additional growth plans for CrossFit Stasis.
