Imran Malik is Assistant Vice President, Portfolio Management—Growth & Transition Capital at BDC. Having joined the Portfolio Management team in 2016, he has over 18 years of professional experience building, leading and advising corporations on operational efficiency, complex restructuring, capital expansion and M&A.
Prior to his current role, he was CFO and then became President and CEO of a private oilfield service company start-up, where he worked with a team to grow revenues from nil to over $23 million. Before that, he worked in Assurance and Financial Advisory Services for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Canada, USA and Australia, where he conducted in-depth operational and financial analysis to identify process improvements and or restructure operations in order to maximize shareholder returns. In addition, while at PwC, he assisted in various M&A transactions in a variety of industries ranging from $10 million to over $500 million.
Imran holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Alberta. He is committed to working collaboratively with entrepreneurs in order to help them overcome challenges and in order for them to reach their full potential.
