Manufacturer of custom-built and specialty semitrailers with 1,200 employees, four production plants and clients throughout North America.

Several contractors were part of the company’s value chain, but were not fully integrated in the production planning process. This created delays in the delivery and payment of units, and required significant human and financial resources. The client wanted to reduce delays and improve the customer experience.
BDC completed a business process optimization project that aimed to reduce semitrailer delivery times and improve customer experience and competitiveness. An improvement framework based on the Kaizen method was implemented in collaboration with the client, and short-, middle- and long-term action plans were implemented.
- At the end of the mandate, unit payment times were reduced by 15% and number of semitrailers in storage yards by 17%.
