Late-stage investing supports companies that have moved beyond the start-up phase of development and have rapidly growing sales—or have fast growth potential.

Late-stage investment is less risky for investors than early-stage investment because the companies being funded are established in the marketplace and their investments can be converted more quickly into cash.
