Jérôme Nycz

Jérôme Nycz was appointed Executive Vice President, BDC Capital, in 2013.

He leads the activities of BDC Capital, the investment arm of Canada’s Business Development Bank (BDC), which offers a full spectrum of capital solutions, from seed investments to growth equity, to the country’s most innovative firms. He also oversees the Bank’s fund of funds and the deployment of venture capital incentivized programs on behalf of the Government of Canada. With over $6 billion in assets under management, his role at BDC Capital is to help build the next generation of Canadian technology champions and drive forward initiatives to sustainably grow the venture capital industry and innovation ecosystem.

Throughout his career at the Bank, Jérôme assumed several leadership roles in divisions such as Corporate Strategy, Enterprise Risk Management, and Economic Analysis. Prior to joining BDC in 2002, he held positions in the financial and public sector, including at the Department of Finance Canada, Industry Canada, the Department of National Defence, the Canadian Consulate in Boston, and Export Development Canada (EDC).

Jérôme currently sits on the Board of Directors of Finance Montréal. He also represents BDC on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of The Montreal Group, a global forum for development banks.

He previously served as board member of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, Canadian Venture Capital, the Private Equity Association (CVCA), Réseau Capital, and CIRANO.

Jérôme holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Concordia University, an IMBA from Hartford University and the Corporate Director (ICD.D) designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
