Jahangir Bhatti is Director, Cleantech Practice, at BDC. He is responsible for the identification and execution of investment opportunities in the Canadian cleantech landscape. Based in Toronto, he manages the full investment lifecycle from deal origination to structuring, due diligence and portfolio management. He brings over a decade of experience spanning roles in audit, valuations and restructuring, in which he worked with multidisciplinary teams on private and public transactions across a wide variety of industries.
Jahangir joined BDC in 2015 as a Senior Account Manager with the Business Restructuring Unit, where he routinely worked with entrepreneurs to assess operational turnaround and business viability plans, as well as provided distress financing to companies undergoing restructuring. Prior to joining BDC, Jahangir valued infrastructure and private equity investments at OMERS Private Markets, a Canadian pension plan with net assets in excess of $95 billion. Before that, he worked in the Valuations team at PwC’s Deal Advisory Group, where he focused on business and asset valuation advice in a variety of contexts that included corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, strategic business decisions and financial reporting.
Jahangir holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Business Valuator (CBV). He is passionate about enabling the success of high-impact Canadian cleantech ventures.
