Glenn Egan became Managing Partner of the stage and sector agnostic Diversified Venture Fund in 2011.

He leads a team of seasoned investment and operating professionals with backgrounds in information and communication technology (ICT), life sciences, electronics and advanced materials who are responsible for maximizing value creation across the investment portfolio.

Mr. Egan has over 20 years of operational experience, including 15 years in wireless products and services.

He joined BDC Venture Capital in 2000 as an investment professional. He became Managing Partner of the Telecom Group in 2003 and Vice President Information and Communication Technologies Venture Capital in 2008.

Prior to joining BDC, he spent 3 years as Vice President, Business Development for EMS Technologies. Over the course of his career he has held various senior positions in sales, business development, marketing, and product development with wireless products companies and wireless carriers, including a start-up.

Mr. Egan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Nazmin Alani is a partner in the Diversified Venture Fund. He joined BDC in 2004. He has more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and has worked with incumbent and new service providers involved in wireline, cellular, personal communications systems (PCS), and satellite communications. His work experience includes assignments in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Asia, and Australia. His professional experience includes business development, product planning, product management, strategic planning, market strategy, business modeling, and strategic sales support. Prior to BDC, Mr. Alani spent 6 years with Gartner Consulting.

Mr. Alani holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo, Ontario and an MBA from the University of Ottawa, Ontario. He also completed the Executive Telecommunications Program at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

Phil Anzarut is a partner in the Diversified Venture Fund. He joined BDC Venture Capital in 2009. Mr. Anzarut is a former investment banker, having begun his career in corporate finance at HSBC Securities. He has also worked independently, providing financial advisory services to Canadian small-cap companies. In 2001, he joined TELUS Corporation as Director of Corporate Development / Mergers & Acquisitions, and spent the next seven years leading acquisitions and strategic divestitures on behalf of TELUS - both at the corporate level and for TELUS Ventures. Mr. Anzarut has also led acquisitions on behalf of CAE Inc. in Montréal. He is a member of the Board of Directors of TBayTel and holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Mr. Anzarut holds a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

Jacques Dénommée is a partner in the Diversified Venture Fund. He joined BDC in 1986. He has accumulated over 28 years of corporate financing experience with small and medium-sized businesses at BDC and CIBC, including the last 15 years in venture capital. Throughout his career, Mr. Dénommée has held key positions on the boards of directors and advisory boards of companies such as Miranda Technologies, Optosecurity, Vaperma and Triton Electronik, and was instrumental in the execution of turn around, merger and acquisition transactions and successful IPOs with several technology companies. Over the years, he has assisted numerous companies with the implementation of sound value creation plans and effective risk management practices. He specializes in companies providing innovative solution to Homeland Security issues such as in the energy, environment and national security sectors.

Jacques Dénommée is currently finishing a book on the challenges of value creation through innovation, and is regularly invited to lecture in the academic community, particularly at McGill University and Université Laval.

Mr. Dénommée is a CFA and holds a BAA Economie-Finance from HEC Montréal.

John Kemp-Welch is a partner in the Diversified Venture Fund. He joined BDC Venture Capital in 1997 and has over 19 years of investment management experience with early stage technology companies. From 1987 to 1997, Mr. Kemp-Welch held progressively senior investment management positions at Innovation Ontario Corporation, a venture capital firm involved in early stage technology investments. In that role, he worked closely with the board and management of over thirty early stage technology companies. From 1981 to 1986, Mr. Kemp-Welch was an investment manager with the Ontario Energy Corporation, which invested in a variety of oil, gas, and energy-related technology companies.

Mr. Kemp-Welch holds Bachelor degrees in both Economics and Geography from McMaster University.

Ian Wyatt is a partner in the, Diversified Venture Fund. He joined BDC Venture Capital in 2006 and he brings 20 years of telecom and IT experience to the team. Over the years, he has held positions in product management, corporate business planning, network planning, consulting and venture investing. Prior to joining BDC, Ian worked at BCE Capital, Mitel Networks and Nortel Networks. At Nortel, as director of business and network planning, he worked with service providers worldwide to develop successful new service strategies, network deployment plans and business cases for emerging opportunities.

Mr. Wyatt holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Queen's University, and is a registered professional engineer.
